After graduating from law school, Ms. DeRose served as a law clerk to the Honorable Judge Royal Furgeson of the United States District Court of the Western District of Texas in San Antonio, Texas, where she handled complex litigation, civil rights issues, employment law, tax, and business litigation. Subsequently, she worked at Baker Botts L.L.P. in Austin, Texas, and specialized in corporate practice, where she represented public and private businesses in a wide variety of corporate and securities matters. Ms. DeRose handled private equity transactions and securities offerings, including preferred stock financings and restructuring transactions, initial public offerings, and various other general corporate matters.
Ms. DeRose also served as adjunct professor of law at the University of Texas School of Law, where she taught advance legal writing. She also handles legal matters for a consumer packed goods company.
Ms. DeRose’s practice focuses on complex corporate transactions and general business litigation. Her practice includes general corporate practice, including corporate governance and representing businesses in corporate disputes as well as business and commercial litigation, contractual disputes, employment disputes, constitutional claims, fraud and fiduciary claims, consumer and deceptive trade practice claims, and business formations and transactions.
